Call for Applications: Middle East Studies Undergraduate Fellowship, 2026-27

The Center for Middle East Studies is now accepting applications for an MES Undergraduate Fellow to serve as our student ambassador!

This competitive fellowship is awarded to one undergraduate each year who serves as a student ambassador for the Center for Middle East Studies. The MES Undergraduate Fellow is expected to play an active role in CMES life and assist with outreach to pre-declaration undergraduates and the Brown community at large. This may entail working with the MES Departmental Undergraduate Group or other DUGs, coordinating with relevant student groups, representing CMES at academic expos, helping to publicize events, producing content for CMES social media and generally raising the profile of CMES among Brown's undergraduate community. 

  • The fellowship comes with a $500 award.
  • Next deadline for submissions: September 30, 2026 EOB

Application process 

  1. Complete the Fellowship Application Form
  2. Have on CMES-affliated faculty member submit a letter of recommendation to cmes@brown.edu on behalf of the applicant. The letter of recommendation should address not only the applicant's academic work, but also their commitment to the MES community.
